JEEP GRAND WAGONEER 2023 POWER TRAIN
high
My 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer has experienced repeated safety-related defects involving the body, electrical, and powertrain systems despite 6 warranty repair visits. The vehicle has been out of service 72 cumulative days, and the current repair still ongoing. Before the most serious incident, the vehicle had already been returned to authorized Jeep dealerships multiple times for liftgate malfunctions. The liftgate repeatedly failed to open, failed to close properly, and exhibited intermittent malfunctions. These defects were repeatedly reproduced and confirmed by the dealer, and Wagoneer engineering was consulted to diagnose and repair the vehicle. The defects have not been permanently corrected. While driving on a multi-lane roadway with my children seated in the 3rd row, the rear liftgate suddenly opened without any warning light/message/alert/beep. This was the 1st time it had opened while driving. Personal belongings were ejected across 3 lanes of traffic, creating a risk of striking other vehicles or causing another driver to swerve or crash. My husband had to enter multiple lanes of traffic to retrieve our belongings before they were struck, creating an additional safety hazard, leaving us sitting in traffic in the vehicle. To my knowledge, the vehicle should not have permitted normal operation if the liftgate was not securely latched. Instead, the liftgate opened while the vehicle was in motion without any indication to the driver, eliminating any opportunity to react or prevent the incident. The vehicle has also experienced repeated lurching/harsh clunking when shifting into gear, and unexpected lurching/hard shifting and when on hills. Numerous warning lights, messages, and check engine lights have occurred since approx. 300 miles and have been dealer verified. Due to these defects remaining unresolved despite repeated repair attempts, I do not believe this vehicle can be operated safely. I am scared for my teen drivers and pedestrians in this vehicle.

JEEP GRAND WAGONEER 2023 STRUCTURE:INTERIOR PANELS:SUN VISOR
medium
While driving on the interstate, attempted to move the driver’s side sun visor to block sunlight from coming in driver’s side window. The sun visor became dislodged from the ceiling and was dangling by the wires that go to the lighted mirror. Was unsuccessful at simply restoring it to its correct position. Had to hold the sun visor by hand until I could pull off the road. After searching this problem online, I found that this is a common failure because of a known, and for some reason not recalled yet, defect in the design of the sun visor pivot point. In my opinion this is a serious safety issue and should be recalled to get this problem for all of these cars resolved.

JEEP GRAND WAGONEER 2023 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
high
I was at a stoplight, waiting to making a U-turn. The light turned green release the brake and went to hit the gas. The entire vehicle shut off. I lost all power and had to restart the vehicle in the middle of the intersection with vehicles behind me. It took at least 30 seconds and I ended up having to wait a cycle on the light because I couldn’t go at the time. Once I got the car back on, I lost power steering and my check engine light came on. I was able to make it to parking lot. Once I got there, I parked in the parking space the vehicle did the automatic shut off to conserve energy once I parked I press the button to shut that feature off when I did it the vehicle shut off again. I lost power to everything and had to restart the engine. This has happened multiple times as I believe it’s related to the electrical system and the automatic shut off. I’ve also had multiple other issues with the vehicle in the electrical system. The most recent being that pulling out of a parking lot onto the highway my vehicle would not shift gears, and I had to pull over to the side of the road as I could not get out of first gear. It ended up being the electrical components of the transmission. At the time of the incident listed above, I had just picked up the vehicle from having this issue replaced and had it for less than six hours when this other issue happened. We bought this vehicle used with roughly 58,000 on March 17, 2026, I’ve owned it for just over two months and in those two months it’s been in the shop more than we’ve been able to drive it due to a series of electrical incidents that causes the check engine light to go on or the vehicle to shut off.

JEEP GRAND WAGONEER 2023 UNKNOWN OR OTHER
low
While driving the breaks faultered and I had to slam on the break. I had to press all the way down on the break pedal to slow down or stop. Also when stopped at a light the car turns off and puts itself in park. I had to turn the car off and back on again to fix it. My safety and the safety of others was at risk due to chance of a significant car crash due to faulty break system. I had a near miss accident due to this reason. I will be calling the car dealership to tow the car to have it inspected. The ABS light came on as well as check engine light. Service power steering light also came on.

JEEP GRAND WAGONEER 2023 SEATS
medium
The front seat has air bags in it for massage and adjustment features. These airbags expand and cant be adjusted down pushing you into the sterering making it unsafe to drive. I took my 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer to the dealer on 4-7-26 and the part that failed is 68608275AB. Thisa part is on national back order. The vehicle is very difficult to drive with the seat in this condition. We are still wiating for this part however we must to continue to drive this unsafe vehicle that had a price tag of $112k. I spoje with the Mfr and they had no help except to email me weekly for a parts update. There are no warning lights when this happens.
