Since purchasing my 2023 Nissan Rogue brand new, I have experienced severe drowsiness and an inability to breathe when driving in start-and-stop traffic. The issue peaked after a recent refueling stop, where raw gas fumes or exhaust heavily infiltrated the cabin. Immediately after driving away from the gas pump, I suffered acute chemical suffocation, gasping for air, experiencing body tremors, and nearly passing out. The symptoms instantly resolved when I switched to driving a different vehicle. This is a severe cabin fume infiltration defect that causes physical incapacitation while driving.

My vehicle experienced severe stalling, rough idling, and a strong burning smell, which match the exact defect characteristics outlined in NHTSA Campaign 26V080 for Nissan main bearing failure (The year 2026 campaign is active). The vehicle was towed to a Nissan dealership, where technicians confirmed the engine requires complete replacement. However, the dealership is currently attempting to attribute the engine failure to 'coil intrusion' rather than the active bearing recall. The vehicle was purchased used in February 2026, just days after the official recall notification was sent to dealers. I am filing this complaint because the manufacturer is actively reviewing the claim and potentially bypassing a federally mandated safety remedy by blaming a consequential symptom of the engine failure. To specifically answer the above questions: The engine's main bearings failed/malfunctioned internally, causing catastrophic damage requiring a total engine replacement. The vehicle and its components are currently intact and available for inspection at the Nissan dealership service center. The vehicle suffered sudden, unexpected engine stalling while actively driving. This caused an immediate loss of motive power on a public roadway, creating a severe crash hazard and putting myself and surrounding drivers at risk of a rear-end collision. Yes. An authorized Nissan dealership service department has inspected the vehicle and confirmed that the engine has suffered a total mechanical failure and needs to be completely replaced. The vehicle is currently being inspected by an authorized Nissan dealership service center, and the case has been officially escalated to Nissan Corporate for a technical and warranty review. A strong burning smell and severe rough idling appeared a couple days prior to the incident. However, the check engine light did not illuminate or provide any warning until the moment the engine completely stalled on the highway.

Engine loss of power, exhaust producing white/gray smoke from tail pipe. Was stopped at stop light, pressed accelerator when light turned green. As I proceeded through the busy intersection, without warning, the engine lost power. As traffic was speeding up I was decelerating in front of a large tractor-trailer that nearly rear-ended me. Have not taken SUV to dealership or service center yet. No inspection has been completed. No warning, messages, or other symptoms appeared prior to the failure. The ADAS would shut off by itself.

'Service CVT Power Reduced' - I have been getting this warning on and off for almost a year now. It seems to come on after the vehicle has been driving for about 30 minutes. The dealership claims they can only get a code when the warning is currently showing. And I have yet to be able to get it there while it is actively showing. I've gone there as soon as the following day and am told the codes are not stored. But I have heard otherwise. I am worried it is transmission related and I am going to go past my 60,000 mile warranty, which I am currently under. When the car is turned off for at least 5-10 minutes it seems to clear. But the issue seems to be happening more frequently. Weather does not seem to he a factor. I am in a nissan social media page and a lot of people seem to have the same issue with this year. Most people are told the same thing. A lot of others say it is the valve body or have had to have transmissions replaced.

In XXX my engine turned off while I was on the highway. I went to star nissan in [XXX] and they changed the turbo hose. On XXX I got a check engine light. After 3 days the dealership said I needed a new turbocharger and the repair would cost $4100. I was told I was 9000 miles over my warranty. I currently have 69000 miles on my 2023 nissan rogue. According to the incomplete recall, engine bearings and low oil pressure could have caused my turbocharger to fail. The extended 10 year 120k mile warranty is not being honored by star nissan in bayside new york. I am not being told the diagnostics codes. I was told to either pay the $4100 or pick the car up. This engine almost killed me on the highway. Now that the engine fails again i'm being denied the repair. I am being told the turbocharger is not part of the long block, eventhough the recall clearly afects the turbocharged engine.
