MERCEDES-BENZ EQB 350 4MATIC 2023 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

My 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQB has an unresolved recall (25V487000) issued July 25, 2025 — nearly 10 months ago — with status still listed as remedy not yet available. The recall is classified as URGENT: FIRE RISK WHEN PARKED on NHTSA's website for my specific vehicle. On May 6-7, 2026 I contacted Mercedes customer service three times and received conflicting safety guidance. Agent 1 told me charging above 80% was acceptable and did not advise outdoor parking. Agent 2 (appointed by a manager) told me to restrict charging and park outside immediately, and escalated to buyback team. Agent 3 called back and said Agent 2 made a mistake and that no restrictions apply. My only available parking is an enclosed residential garage. I have a newborn due any day. Mercedes has failed to provide consistent written safety guidance despite an active federal fire risk classification on my vehicle. I have sent written correspondence to Mercedes Financial Services requesting clarification.

This complaint documents three deficiencies in Mercedes-Benz's recall response for recalls 25V487 and 26V073. First, the BMS software update applied under 25V050 reduced my vehicle's range by approximately 20% and degraded charging performance without adequate disclosure to owners. Second, Mercedes-Benz delayed notification to U.S. owners after fires occurred in already-remediated vehicles in Europe in November 2025. Third, interim measures are inadequate, now confirmed by EVgo independently restricting affected vehicles from their DC fast charging network. A detailed complaint document is attached. Recall numbers 25V487 and 26V073. VIN [XXX] . INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

While driving down the highway late at night, with no other cars around, the panoramic sunroof exploded, throwing shattered glass everywhere. The window was not hit by an object and had no previous damage. Shattered flying glass while moving at highway speeds caused a momentary loss of control.
