For approximately two weeks, this vehicle exhibited intermittent, uncommanded steering wheel "tugs" and erratic Lane Keeping Assist behavior. During a U-turn on 1/25/2026, the vehicle struck a curb. While I cannot definitively isolate driver input from system input during the maneuver, the vehicle immediately entered a "fail-safe" state, triggering a cascade of specific error codes: Electronic Stability Control (ESC) Fault, Front AEB Unavailable, Highway Assist Inoperative, and Intelligent Speed Adaptation Inoperative.  These errors are directly tied to the ADAS/ADCU systems currently under NHTSA Recall 25V559, which identifies a defect where the system provides "sudden steering inputs that are difficult for the driver to override" during turns. The dealership VinFast Lisle is acknowledging these recall-related errors are present but is refusing to cover the resulting physical damage, quoting a repair cost of over $2,100 + taxes. I am reporting this because the manufacturer should not be able to dismiss a collision that occurs while a vehicle is actively suffering from a known, federally-recalled steering defect. I request that the NHTSA investigate whether this hardware damage is a consequence of the software failure.

VINFAST VF 8 2025 UNKNOWN OR OTHER

As per recall notice received from Vinfast, I took my car to Service center for mandatory software upgrade on Jan 19 2026. It has been 46 days till now and I still don't have te car . Software upgrade has been having issues and all installed cameras were replaced but still software is not working as desired.  There is no ETA on completion of the job and I have lost confidence in company's ability to correctly upgrade the software.without any glitches.  I have also sent an email to Vinfast to buyback my lease since I dont want the vehicle anymore.

The contact stated that the failure had occurred twice. In addition, the contact stated that the last failure was scary, and the vehicle had been parked since then. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V559000 (Lane Departure). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. In addition, the contact was advised to contact the independent contractor that was provided by the manufacturer to have the repair performed. The independent contractor was contacted; however, the contact was requested to pay for the repair. The contact declined the repair because the repair was a recall repair. The failure mileage was approximately 1. The VIN was unavailable.
