While Lexus has been busy expanding its electric lineup with models like the RZ compact crossover and an all-electric option for the ES executive sedan, a significant new player is on the horizon. Arriving in the fall of 2026, the all-new Lexus TZ three-row EV is set to offer a premium take on the Toyota Highlander EV. This upcoming SUV promises impressive features, including the advanced Direct4 all-wheel-drive system, Dynamic Rear Steering, and an estimated manufacturer range of up to 300 miles, varying by trim.
Amidst the anticipation for the TZ, digital artists are already envisioning its potential. A recent CGI rendering from the “AutoYa Interior” YouTube channel showcases a striking “Black Edition” or “Black Line” concept for the 2027 Lexus TZ. This virtual interpretation focuses on an aggressive and stylish aesthetic, imagining a special appearance package that enhances the vehicle’s visual appeal.
The rendered Black Edition transforms the TZ with a predominantly all-black exterior and interior theme. Beyond just a simple black paint job, the concept envisions all exterior trim elements receiving a glossy black finish. This treatment is also applied to the interior, suggesting a sophisticated and darkened cabin ambiance. The artist also explored how these black accents would complement various other exterior colors, including blue, dark cherry, white, purple, dark green, maroon, and dark gray, highlighting the versatility of such an appearance package.
The idea of offering a special edition or a distinct appearance package for the Lexus TZ right from its launch is certainly compelling. It could provide an immediate avenue for buyers seeking a more distinctive and sportier look. However, the exact launch timeline for the TZ, and its Toyota counterpart, remains somewhat fluid. Reports suggest that Toyota might be facing production retooling challenges, potentially pushing the electric Highlander’s debut to 2027. This could indirectly impact the Lexus TZ’s arrival, although Lexus has officially slated it for fall 2026.
