Kia’s immensely popular Sportage is gearing up for a significant redesign, and while official details are still under wraps, a compelling CGI rendering based on recent spy shots offers a tantalizing glimpse of what’s to come. This sixth-generation model promises an evolutionary, yet decidedly more boxy, aesthetic, hinting at increased interior space and a modern, tech-infused cabin. The Sportage holds a crucial position in Kia’s global lineup, serving as a best-seller in numerous markets and playing a pivotal role in the brand’s record-breaking sales achievements, particularly in the United States.

The current, fifth-generation Sportage, which entered production in 2021 and received a mid-cycle refresh for the 2026 model year, is still relatively fresh. However, the automotive world is already abuzz with anticipation for its successor. This anticipation has been fueled by a steady stream of spy photos, with the latest revealing a crossover that draws comparisons to a smaller Kia Telluride thanks to its more upright and squared-off profile. These shots, captured during towing duties, highlight a noticeable shift towards a more commanding stance and a potentially larger cabin area.

Among those captivated by the emerging details is virtual artist Nikita Chuicko, widely known online as “kelsonik.” Taking inspiration from the latest camouflage-clad prototypes, Chuicko has produced a highly detailed CGI rendering that imagines the upcoming Sportage in a striking dual-tone finish. This hypothetical design showcases a clean white body contrasted with a black roof and pillars, offering a sophisticated aesthetic.

The visual cues in the rendering point to a Sportage that has grown in stature. Noticeable are the larger rear doors and a more vertical rear glass panel, suggesting a more accommodating interior. The roofline also appears to have abandoned its previous slope towards the rear, contributing to the vehicle’s more utilitarian and spacious appearance. Up front, the design language remains evolutionary, retaining the distinctive boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights and vertical headlight arrangement seen on the current model, along with a familiar grille and bumper detailing. Around the rear, the design shifts to slimmer, boomerang-shaped LED taillights and a more vertically oriented liftgate, further emphasizing the new model’s boxier, more functional silhouette.

Inside, the transformation is expected to be equally significant. The new Sportage is slated to receive a comprehensive interior overhaul, with the integration of Kia’s advanced Pleos Connect infotainment system anticipated to be a key highlight. This move underscores Kia’s commitment to enhancing the digital experience for drivers and passengers alike.
