JEEP WAGONEER S 2025 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
high
The vehicle's automatic emergency braking (AEB) / forward collision avoidance system activates without cause and brings the vehicle to a sudden, complete stop in the middle of an intersection. This has occurred on at least two occasions. In each instance I was making a left turn at a four-way intersection while an oncoming vehicle was also turning left — a common, non-conflicting turn geometry. The system falsely interpreted the opposing left-turning vehicle as an imminent frontal collision, displayed a "crash detected" message, and applied full braking, stopping my vehicle in live cross-traffic in the middle of the intersection. The first occurrence was on XXX, at the intersection of [XXX], while I was turning left from [XXX] [XXX]. The second occurrence was on XXX, at the intersection of [XXX], while turning left from [XXX] onto [XXX]. Both intersections are equipped with dual (two) opposing left-turn lanes, and in each case the false activation occurred as oncoming traffic in the opposing left-turn lanes was simultaneously turning left. This is a serious safety hazard. An unexpected, complete stop in the middle of an active intersection exposes the vehicle to being struck from behind by following traffic and to side-impact (T-bone) collisions from cross-traffic. The braking is abrupt and unanticipated, and no obstacle is actually present in the vehicle's path. No crash or injury has resulted to date. The defect has been reported to the selling/servicing dealer, Larry H. Miller Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram 104th (Thornton, CO), and is the subject of an open Stellantis case, #XXX. The vehicle has been taken to the dealer for this concern. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate the forward collision avoidance / automatic emergency braking system on this vehicle and model. JEEP WAGONEER S 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
high
Was driving on a side street when the following warnings appeared: "Stop Safely – Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon", "Service Electric Vehicle System" , Wrench warning light. Immediately attempted to pull to the side of the road. Once stopped, the vehicle completely froze and became inoperable. The vehicle had to be towed to Shaver Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM in Thousand Oaks, California. The same safety-related failures are being reported not only in the Jeep Wagoneer S, but also in the Dodge Charger Daytona, which shares the same STLA Large EV platform/These warnings on the Wagoneer S and Charger EVs indicate a critical fault detected in the vehicle's high-voltage or 12-volt electrical system, frequently stemming from a software glitch, a loose 12V terminal, or communication errors between the battery control modules. . This suggests the issue may be a broader platform-level software or electrical defect rather than an isolated problem with our vehicle. This is now the third occurrence of the same issue within the past year. Stellantis has been unable to diagnose and permanently correct a known defect.

Turned on car in garage and sounded like it was in gear but wouldn’t shift into any gear and all the warning lights in the dash came on. Had to be pulled out of garage by tow truck and towed to dealership where it has been since May 12.

Vehicle would not go into gear when turned on. Vehicle would not turn off when attempted to turn off. Could not even open doors when attempting to get back in vehicle. I received notices to service the following: blind spot alert, electronic stability control, transmission, autopark, electric vehicle system. I received a notification that the vehicle was going 317 miles per hour. It is now in the shop for the 3rd time in 10 months for the same issues. This vehicle needs to be recalled as it is a hazard to the general public.

The first time this happened I was pulling into a parking lot and all service lights started flickering and it said to turn turn off car immediately as I was driving, I pulled into the nearest parking lot and it just stopped driving. The second time, which was Friday, April 17, 2026 I was driving down a busy road and all lights started flashing, the big NO ASB brakes flashing and I had no brakes. It was terrifying. Thankfully I ended up going down a hill onto flat ground and was able to pull into a gas station and get stopped by the curb. I immediately turned off the car and called the dealership. This happens without any warning at all, just when I am driving. This car is completely UNSAFE and unreliable. I needed to drive 188 miles on Saturday and when I picked the car up from the dealership the service manager told me NOT to take it on the trip, after being told the updates were completed. The issue has not been reliably reproduced, but the vehicle has been taken to the dealership twice for the same concern. After the most recent visit, the service manager advised me not to drive the vehicle due to safety concerns, indicating the issue may still be present and unresolved. The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized dealership on two separate occasions. It has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer directly, police, or insurance representatives. No warning lights, messages, or prior symptoms appeared before either incident. The loss of braking occurred suddenly and without any advance indication. The failure involves the vehicle’s braking system and potentially the electrical/software systems. In addition to the braking issue, when the dealership connected a diagnostic device to the vehicle, it incorrectly registered the odometer reading as approximately 77,000 miles, while the actual mileage is approximately 4,801 miles. The failure involves the vehicle’s braking system and potentially the electrical/software systems. In addition to the braking issue,
