For enthusiasts and bargain hunters alike, the window of opportunity to snag a brand-new, gasoline-powered Cadillac XT4 has slammed shut. Production of this compact luxury crossover in North America officially concluded in January 2025. While initial plans by General Motors to shift towards an all-electric lineup were later reconsidered due to slower-than-anticipated EV adoption, the XT4’s production was not revived. The Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Kansas, where the XT4 was built, has since been repurposed for the manufacturing of the next-generation Chevrolet Bolt EV.

The Cadillac XT4 first made its debut on March 27, 2018, with an unveiling event held at Cadillac House in Manhattan. This reveal followed closely on the heels of a teaser trailer that premiered during the 90th Academy Awards ceremony on March 4 of the same year, generating early buzz for the new model.

Production commenced at the Fairfax Assembly Plant in the summer of 2018, with the first customer deliveries beginning in September of that year. Positioned as the most accessible crossover in Cadillac’s portfolio, the XT4 initially carried a starting price of $34,795, or $35,790 when including the destination charge.

Under the hood, the XT4 was powered by a 2.0-liter Twin-Scroll turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This powerplant delivered a respectable 235 horsepower (238 metric horsepower) and 258 pound-feet of torque. Power was sent to the wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission, available in either front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive configurations.

Performance figures showed a slight variation between the drivetrains. The front-wheel-drive XT4 could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6.6 seconds, while the all-wheel-drive variant required 7.3 seconds for the same sprint. Both configurations shared a top speed of 130 mph.

Throughout its production run in North America, Cadillac managed to build and sell an estimated 176,500 units of the XT4. However, the automotive landscape has shifted dramatically, and now, only two of these gasoline-powered models remain available for purchase across the entire United States. According to Ford Authority’s tracking, one of these final XT4s is located at a dealership in Texas, and the other can be found on a dealer lot in Colorado.

Specifically, a Stellar Black Metallic XT4 with a Jet Black interior is currently listed for $42,225 at Fuson Cadillac in Aurora, Colorado. This particular example is equipped with the Premium Luxury trim and features front-wheel drive, representing one of the last chances to acquire a new XT4.
